 Yoni is from here

…the Putumayo region in Colombia.

This Andean Amazonian region is a lush ecosystem of unspoiled rainforest full of unique biospheres and forms of life. The biodiversity of plant, animal and bird species makes it unlike any other place on earth.

Where there is lots of this…

 But more recently...lots of this.

In fact, corruption, foreign mining and oil drilling has already damaged and polluted large parts of this very region. Harming endangered species, virgin rainforest, displacing indigenous communities and poisoning rivers its pristine rivers and source of life for the biosphere.

Yoni has been on a mission to help preserve the territory where mining and oil industries have not yet been able to enter.

WIthout training (or decent camera equipment), often rigging self-made camera traps. he has been documenting endangered wildlife above and below (the water) in an attempt to bring legal protection to his region.

His hope is to create an awareness for leverage to gain preservation status to the area for ecotourism and research.

The Brief

FInd a way to leverage existing tools within the private sector to aid and amplify yoni’s mission to bring more awareness to this cause and protect these jungles and delicate biospheres of the Putumayo. Bringing the situation to light for the outside world.

the solution

AN “inverted” CSR campaign with a popular camera brand.
approach a camera brand with existing CSR programs and propose donation of professional camera equipment for yoni to high-quality new content.

In exchange, we create a campaign from that content to be shared across the brand’s social networks. we tell a story of a company who cares, generate some brand love, give a cause a platform and amplify awareness. by leveraging the brand’s social network’s millions of followers, we drive action and donation to the cause.

 The results

OK, so we’re still working on this one…and even though this project hasn’t been realized yet, we strongly believe in the bigger concept. “Inverted” CSR campaigns (from the interest of the cause-side) that match Brands with activism, to create win-win-win stories with creatives-causes-brands.
